Tiny micro frogs in pitcher plants,

We have been to Kubah National Park in Sarawak for many times to photograph the many variety of frogs but never paid attention to the tiny micro frogs near the pitcher plants until recently. Vincent from Kuching and I visited the park one late afternoon in November to photograph birds and stayed late to witness the

Pitcher plant- Nepenthes ampullaria

The frog is known as Microhyla nepenthicola, also known as the Mantang narrow-mouthed frog, found  in the Matang range in Sarawak Borneo according to Wikipedia. The tiny frog spends much of their time near the pitcher plant Nepenthes ampullaria. Unlike other frogs, Microhyla nepenthicola has less webbing on its feet which may be beneficial when trying to climb the sides of the pitcher plants, which can be slippery.

We have seen other tiny frogs in Borneo Highlands but of different species from the Microhyla nepenthicola the

tiny frog of Kubah National Park,  Sarawak, Borneo.
