Yellow-rumped Flycatcher, Crested Goshawks and Southern Pied Hornbill in Pasir Ris Park Singapore
After missing out on birding for a month, I decided to go to Pasir Ris Park this morning. I saw almost 50 photographers shooting the fledging Crested Goshawks. I took a few shots of the chicks at the nest and decided to look for the Yellow-rumped Flycatcher at Car Park C.
When I reached the car park, only a few cars were parking in the big lot. I looked for the bicycle rental shop, and it was closed. I walked around the entire car park to look for the Yellow-rumped Flycatcher. All I saw were common birds. As I made one full circle and back at the bicycle shop, I was about to give up. Then I saw a bird on the treetop. It was an Asian Brown Flycatcher. As I searched with my binocular, I had a glimpse of the Yellow-rumped Flycatcher. I waited patiently for the bird to come down lower. I was able to capture the images below.
Once I got the Yellow-rumped Flycatcher, I went to the Crested Goshawk area. I saw two chicks fledged but still near the nest. A southern Pied Hornbill was approaching near the nest and the chicks. The parent quickly chased the hornbill away several times. It was an action-packed morning in Pasir Ris Park.
